# Bannerify vs IMG.LY

> Compare Bannerify and IMG.LY on pricing, API, rendering engine, and template editor.

Canonical: https://bannerify.co/compare/imgly

IMG.LY sells CreativeEditor SDK, an editor you build into your own app, with a renderer you run on your own servers. Bannerify is a hosted API: design a template, send JSON, get the image or PDF back.

## Why teams switch

- Nothing to host: IMG.LY renders on your servers, with the Node SDK or a Docker renderer that works best on a GPU. Bannerify is a hosted API, so there is no renderer to run or scale.
- Prices on the page: IMG.LY licenses are quote-only. Bannerify plans go from $0 to $999 a month, all on the pricing page, and you can start without a sales call.
- No watermark on the free plan: IMG.LY evaluation mode puts a watermark on every export. Bannerify Free gives 100 clean images a month.

## When IMG.LY is the better pick

- You want your own users to design in an editor inside your web, iOS, Android, or desktop app.
- Every file must stay on your own servers, or you need a fully air-gapped setup.
- You need H.264 or H.265 video, or print PDFs with spot colors, from the same engine.
- You want to import PSD, InDesign, PDF, or PowerPoint files as templates.

## Switch from IMG.LY in three steps

1. Rebuild one template: Start from a blank canvas or a gallery template, or import a Figma frame with the Bannerify plugin. Text, images, QR codes, tables, and charts are layers that your data can fill.
2. Name the layers that change: Give each layer that takes data a name, such as headline or photo. A request changes each named layer and keeps the rest of the design.
3. Send your data: Call the REST API or an SDK from your code, or connect a spreadsheet or form through Zapier, n8n, or Pipedream. The free plan gives 100 renders a month to test with.

Competitor figures checked in October 2026 on https://img.ly/pricing. IMG.LY does not publish license prices. Its 30-day trial key removes the watermark.
