# INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR

> INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR means a request failed for a reason that no other code covers, such as malformed JSON or a failed render. The API sends status 500.

Canonical: https://bannerify.co/docs/api-reference/errors/code/INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR

## Problem

The request failed for a reason that no other code covers. The API sends status 500. These are the usual causes:

- The request has no `Content-Type: application/json` header, the JSON is malformed, or the body is empty.
- The render failed.
- The upload to your own S3 bucket failed, when you send `s3Config`.
- Bannerify had an unexpected problem.

## Solution

Send the `Content-Type: application/json` header and a valid JSON body. If you use `s3Config`, check the endpoint, region, bucket, and keys.

Retry the request a few times with a short delay. If it keeps failing, write to [an@bannerify.co](mailto:an@bannerify.co) and include the full error response, with the `requestId`.
