How does the tool remove the Gemini watermark?

Gemini puts a white sparkle in the bottom-right corner, at a known size and with a known transparency. The tool finds the sparkle and calculates the original pixels under it. It does not paint over the corner or guess new pixels, so the corner keeps its detail.

Does it remove the SynthID watermark?

No. Gemini also puts an invisible SynthID watermark in the image. The tool removes only the visible sparkle. Google's SynthID Detector can still find that the image is AI-made.

Can I use the images without the mark?

Use the tool on images that you made with Gemini. Google's terms ask you not to show AI-made content as made by a person. When a platform asks you to label AI-made images, label them.

Does it work on Nano Banana images?

Yes. Nano Banana is the image model in Gemini, and its images have the same sparkle. The tool knows the sparkle in its 48-pixel and 96-pixel sizes, and in the newer versions.

What happens with an image that has no Gemini mark?

The tool tells you that it found no Gemini watermark, and it does not change the image. It removes only the Gemini sparkle, not other logos or watermarks.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The tool runs in your browser, so your images stay on your device. It works offline after the page loads.

Does it make the image smaller or change its quality?

No. The image keeps its size in pixels. A PNG stays a PNG with no loss. A JPEG or WebP image is saved again at high quality.

Does it remove the watermark from Veo videos?

Not yet. The tool works on images only.

Is this tool open source?

Yes. The source code is on GitHub at ducan-ne/gemini-watermark-remover, under the MIT license. You can read how it works, report a problem, or run it yourself.
